Tanzania is one of East Africa's most consistent sesame producers. The Singida, Tabora and Dodoma regions supply the majority of exported sesame, with Singida alone accounting for over 60% of national production. The semi-arid climate and red laterite soils produce seeds with high oil content and a naturally white, clean appearance that commands premium pricing in Asian and European markets.
Harvest typically runs from August to November. Golden Seed Export sources directly from aggregators and primary processors, conducts machine cleaning and colour sorting at dedicated facilities, and arranges independent SGS pre-shipment inspection before loading.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between natural and hulled sesame seeds?
Natural sesame retains its outer husk, giving it a more robust flavour and higher calcium content. Hulled sesame has the husk mechanically removed, resulting in a milder flavour, brighter white colour and lower calcium — preferred for tahini and premium bakery applications.
What aflatoxin testing do you perform?
All shipments are tested for aflatoxin (B1, B2, G1, G2 total) by an accredited third-party laboratory. Standard tolerance is ≤10 ppb total; we can achieve ≤5 ppb on sortex-grade stock. Test results are provided with each shipment's document package.
Can I source organic-certified sesame?
Organic-certified sesame from Tanzania is available in limited quantities subject to seasonal supply. Please enquire at the time of order and we will confirm availability.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ is 20 MT (one 20-foot container). Smaller trial quantities are considered for verified buyers on a case-by-case basis.
